Chrisann Zaubi

ARTIST • ILLUSTRATOR • DESIGNER • OWNER OF STUDIO ZOWBI

I am an artist in every form — singer, painter, dreamer, and muse — forever chasing beauty through color, sound, and story. My work flows from a lifelong dialogue between imagination and experience: from illustrating books and designing textiles in New York’s fashion world to composing songs and painting the landscapes that shaped my earliest visions. Each creative path reflects the same heartbeat — the desire to translate emotion into form, to make the invisible visible. Guided by curiosity and the muses that linger in light, movement, and memory, I continue to explore art as both expression and homecoming.

The Hudson Valley has long been a muse for painters, poets, and dreamers — a landscape alive with color, mystery, and story. It was here that I first absorbed the region’s quiet magic, a creative pulse that continues to shape my work today.

After earning my BFA in Fine Art and Illustration from the Columbus College of Art and Design, I began a career in the New York fashion industry, where I honed my eye for texture, color, and visual storytelling. Over the years, my artistic journey has expanded across many forms — textile design, book illustration, songwriting, and product design— each reflecting a belief that creativity is boundless when guided by heart and intuition.

Today, my work represents a return to my roots — a place of authenticity and creative freedom. In my personal studio, I continue to explore art as both sanctuary and adventure: a home with many corridors, from the sunlit salon to the attic of memory, to the mysterious basement where new ideas are born. Here, surrounded by my two children, laughter, and the natural beauty that first inspired me, I create with curiosity, harmony, and the enduring wonder of a child discovering the world anew.

In every medium, my art is a reflection of connection — to nature, to memory, to the unseen threads that bind our stories together. Whether through a brushstroke, a melody, or a pattern woven into fabric, I seek to evoke feeling and presence — the quiet recognition of beauty in all its forms. My journey as an artist is not about perfection, but about participation in the ongoing dance of creation. It’s where I find meaning, peace, and endless inspiration — and where I hope others might rediscover a spark of their own.
